Some of this may be based on the improved performance of many hedge funds to kick off 2017. In the first quarter of 2017, hedge funds gained more than 3% and outperformed fund of funds, UCITS, mutual funds , and CTA's.
Around 2/3 of new hedge fund launches were in North America, dominating Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world in terms of new hedge fund launches.
